Name: Rita
Nickname: Rita technically is a nickname for a longer name. :) But I also go by Mar-Mar and Teddy.
Age: 18
Birthday: May 18, 1991
Gender: Female!
Location: Staten Island, NY
Occupation: Currently an Anthropology Major :)
Languages Spoken: English, and a fair amount of Spanish, which I'm interested in improving.
Religion: A mix of Buddhism and Catholicism. I was raised with both.
Relationship Status: Single, currently.
Piercings/tattoos: Two in my ears, one in my nose.

About Me
:

I'm quite loud and opinionated, a bit childish at times, but overall quite friendly. I feel like I'm a lot older than my age, and usually get along much better with people a few years older than me. I'm usually taken to be older than I am. I adore languages, and traveling. I'm rather frustrated I can't travel the world and speak all the languages there are. I like to dance, and I know some swing dancing and I'm picking up some ballroom. I also like to act, and though I'd like to think I'm fairly good at it I've been a little bit intimidated to audition for anything lately. I play piano, guitar, and a little bit of violin. I'm currently a freshman at NYU, but I do not like it very much at all. I like to read, and I'm a writer an amateur photographer. I'm a rambler, and quite independent and open minded to all walks of life. I have a weakness for shoes, puppies, babies and playgrounds. I love the fall. I like hats, gloves and scarves. I am very easily bored so I change my routine or style quite frequently. I'm really interested in other people and cultures, so I'd adore any kind of pen pal.

Main Interests:

Music: Anything and Everything. From Gregorian Chant to Hip Hop to Indie Rock to Classical. If it's interesting and well made, I'll listen to it. You recommend it, I'll most likely listen.
Books:
Lolita, Tropic of Cancer, Under A Glass Bell, Portnoy's Complaint, Slaughterhouse Five, The Little Prince, Lord of the Flies
Movies/TV: The Fountain, Henry and June, Blue Velvet, Atonement, 28 Days Later, Triplets of Belleville

Pen Pal Information:
How many pen pals do you have?: Not a one.
How many do you want?: Only a few. I'm a little busy.
Do you want email pals?: Only email for now. I'm a poor little girl who is too busy or impoverished for stamps and handwriting.
Do you want snail-mail pen pals?: Not really.
How long does it take you to reply to a letter?:
As promptly as I can, depending on how busy I am.
What gender would you like your pen pal to be?
It doesn't matter. Preferably someone around my age and older.
Age?: I prefer someone older than me or my age, but I realize maturity is relative so it's up to you.

What are you looking for in a pen pal? Someone open-minded, wacky and interesting, who would perhaps like some interesting and fictional letters from time to time. :)

Where would you like them to be from? Anywhere in the whole wide world! Though someone out of the US would be interesting.

 NEW FIC.

It's called Foreign Tongues.

I absolutely adore this one. I'm not going to lie. I wrote it for prompt 21 of [info]barefootboys

It's got a mild R rating, so beware.

It's pathetic that something as simple as a piece of paper can remind me of Sirius... )

Title: The Autumn Years
Author: [info]carminablue
Rating: PG
Written for Prompt 2 of [info]barefootboys
Disclaimer: Own not.
Summary: Autumn is not always a season. I basically used each section of the poem as a prompt for each section of the fic. It all ties in together at the end.

I am really behind on these prompts. I blame school for being an ass. Comments would bring me much joy.

He will sing to him of Spring.  )

Okay. So I was going to post this in response to [info]barefootboys prompt 1, but someone had already posted a similar idea and I didn't want to be redundant. At any rate, I still want to put this up because I rather like it, so there. There's a hint of R/S but it isn't very obvious at all. You don't really have to see it in a slashy way at all if you do not wish to.

Hope you all like it and it's not TOO random. It's my first time writing for a comm like that, so, hopefully everything's cool.

 .
That's a very Remusy thing to do, right? Correcting the grammar of apology letters?  )

Right. So I still need inspiration desperately but luckily

[info]barefootboysis starting tomorrow so I shant be without something to start my creative juices for much longer. Additionally, I've been listening to all my playlists on my iPod so that usually sets me up to write something. I'll be starting something tonight, but it's impossible to know when I will finish it considering how much work I've been getting for school. But I shall find myself sometime. I have to, otherwise I will go insane.

Right. So AP American tests are absolutely horrible. I deplore studying, especially when it is a subject I do not care for. Usually I am a history FREAK, but US history does not appeal to me at all. It bores me to tears.

grrrrr.

I'm also in the mood to write something, but I don't know what. I'm waiting for inspiration to fall right out of the sky. Quite literally.

If anyone has something, that would be AMAZING.
